Instant messaging, or commonly called IM, is designed to function just like the electronic mail (e-mail), but the primary difference between the latter and the former is that IM, as the name implies, is instant, immediate. This type of messaging is being operated by programs such as MSN Messenger, AOL Messenger and Yahoo Messenger to name a few. IM users can type messages to their friends and see the messages on the screen, at the same time, have their friends reply on the messages and see the replies on the screen. You might say that IM is really cool, but watch out! Virus writers, those intelligent tech people, are in the errand of creating and spreading instant messaging viruses -- those malicious, irritating programs that travel via IM. Most of the time, these viruses spread when an IM user opens an already infected message that seemed to come from a friend.
Unfortunately, when the virus has already infected computers, some do not show signs of infection or the user will not notice any change at all. As time goes by and as the virus spreads by sending copies of it to the people included in the user's contact list, the computers will gradually slow down or pause or stop responding. So, how will you know if your computer was infiltrated?
Simple rules on prevention:
-Do not open an IM file from someone unknown to you
-Update your Microsoft Windows software
-Use the most up-to-date version of IM program
-Use antivirus,
firewall, and antispyware software
-Check your
internet download manager
These will safeguard you from nasty invaders that ruin your healthy communication to your friends and enable you to have fast downloading of files in the internet. It is very hard keeping computers protected from virus. But, I'm sure it pays a lot to be on guard.
Modern and advanced as they are, the computers are likewise vulnerable to certain digital invasions. Such assaults may be in the form of viruses, worms, and all other sorts of intrusions from suspected computer hackers. These threats may be inevitable one
